Preface: Those who have the joy of assurance of salvation will want to lead others to experience the same.
“You are what you eat,” is a common expression. Basically it is stating that what you put into your body is how you will look and feel. So what if you put God into your body? People would surely see that something has changed in you. Your kindness toward them would be hard to miss. The joy you have in your heart would shine without you even trying.
In our materialistic world, many of us are busy filling ourselves with money, fame, degrees, amusements, etc. But what if you put God first in your life? You couldn’t help but live Him out. The following are suggestions on how to keep the joy alive.
Have a right perspective. Abraham “waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God” (Heb. 11:10, NKJV). This world is not our home. We are just passing through. With this mindset, we are able to help others experience the same concept on how to look at life.
Feed your spiritual body. Fill your spiritual mind and soul with the Word of God, prayer, and witnessing. You can only witness something you’ve witnessed. Witnessing God’s love in your life can, in turn, be an example to your friends, family, classmates, and coworkers around you.
Starve the flesh. Avoid feeding the fleshly lust with the things of this world. Instead, live out the life Jesus lived on earth.
It’s time people heard of the One who died for them, the One who always loves and forgives, when we seek Him. It’s time someone told them. It starts with you.
